Alex Milgram

Alex Milgram is a second-year student in the Electrical Engineering and Physics program at the University of Ottawa. He loves playing hockey and soccer, and does so competitively. He has a huge interest in physics and the world in general, and is particularly interested in fusion technology and its future implementation. Overall, Alex is fascinated by the world around him and showcases this through his interest in a wide variety of activities and endeavors, ranging from musical expression in the form of piano and cello, to various coding projects, and games and puzzles of all sorts. He is looking forward to his future studies. He hopes to either pursue a career in research and go all the way to obtaining a PhD or to start a business.

Eeshaan Shahnawaz

Eeshaan Shahnawaz is a second-year student in the Faculty of Science’s Financial Mathematics and Economics program. Eeshaan is passionate about the mathematical world of differential equations, particularly steady states. He would like to explore its connections with economics to address economic challenges, study long-term behaviour, and influence policy-making decisions. Alongside school, Eeshaan works for the Government of Canada as a Financial Analyst. This opportunity has helped him link real-world applications to the theoretical practices done in his classrooms. He is also a lifeguard for the City of Ottawa and an adult swim coach for Nepean Masters. As an advocate for diversity, Eeshaan participates in many cultural events, promoting multiculturalism in the Bangladeshi-Canadian community. He has many appearances on Parliament Hill through performances and volunteering. Eeshaan is highly engaged with volunteering for welfare organizations and aims to make the world a better place by helping the less fortunate around the globe. After graduation, Eeshaan plans to pursue a career of analysis in economics in the public sector.

Isabelle Joubert-Hemish

Isabelle Joubert-Hemish is a third year student at the University of Ottawa, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree. Passionate about painting and sculpture, she has had the opportunity to present her works in galleries such as the Eugène-Racette Art Gallery at MIFO, the Trinity Art Gallery at the Shenkman, and La Nouvelle Scène Gilles Desjardins throughout her academic career. Outside of her studies, she is actively involved in Ottawa’s arts community, volunteering at the Ottawa School of Art, École publique de La Salle, and Bluesfest. In addition, she has served as treasurer for two dance teams at the University. Isabelle hopes to pursue graduate studies in the future and continue to immerse herself in Ottawa’s rich artistic culture.

Victor Boddy is a third-year student in the Faculty of Science Biotechnology program (Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering). Victor has a passion for research and entrepreneurship and spends his free time working in the Shuhendler Lab, or leading the University of Ottawa iGEM team to compete in an international synthetic biology research competition. He also works alongside the mentors at the Faculty of Science Mentoring Center and holds the position Vice-President of External Affairs on the Science Student Association. He hopes to complete his degree and continue furthering his education with a graduate degree.

Cullen St. Clair is a first-year student in the Faculty of Engineering's Data Science Program (Computer Science and Mathematics). Cullen has a passion for artificial intelligence and machine learning with a keen interest in computer vision, large language models, and the ethical implications of such systems. He plans to pursue research in the field to develop cutting-edge technology for industrial applications. Cullen is also considering pursuing graduate studies and research in an academic context.

Dante Nicoletti is a third-year student in the Faculty of Science, in the Biopharmaceutical Sciences program with an option in Medicinal Chemistry. He is currently the Vice-President of Philanthropy in the Science Students Association where he organizes many fun fundraisers for charities. He also worked the last few semesters with the Ambassador team and provided academic support to many students through tutoring. He will be spending a bit of time working co-op placements before beginning an Honors project next year.

Eleni Dubé-Zinatelli

Eleni Dubé-Zinatelli is a third-year undergraduate student in the Honours Bachelor of Science in Psychology program, in the French immersion stream, at the University of Ottawa. Throughout her degree, she developed a passion for research and looks to pursue graduate studies in psychology in the future. Her first exposure to research was as a transcriptionist in the Childhood Cognition and Learning Laboratory, directed by Dr. Cristina Atance. She later volunteered in Dr. Nafissa Ismail's NISE Laboratory (NeuroImmunology, Stress, and Endocrinology). This led to her current project in Dr. Ismail's lab, where she is researching the effects of exposure to chronic stress during adolescence on neurodegeneration as part of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP). Next fall, she plans to complete her Honours Thesis and apply to cognitive neuroscience graduate programs.
Eleni is the co-founder of the Doing Good Things (DGT) foundation, a non-profit organization she started with her friend Keegan Snider in 2020. The DGT foundation has as its principal goal to help the homeless community in Ottawa. Since 2020, the team has grown to include over 10 active members who raise funds to assist the homeless.
Since a young age, Eleni has enjoyed performing and competing in various dance styles. Last summer, she channelled her passion for dance to inspire a younger generation as a uOttawa Gee-Gee's head counsellor. Eleni also teaches dance at la maison de la francophonie d'Ottawa.

Emma Martins

Emma Martins is a second-year student in the Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Program. Born and raised in the Ottawa-Gatineau Area, she has aspired to attend the University of Ottawa since she was a child. As a proud member of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees Varsity Track and Field Team, when not studying, Emma can be found training ~5 days a week at one of three locations in the Ottawa area: Minto Sports Complex, Louis Riel Dome, and Terry Fox Athletic Facility. In this field of endeavour, Emma has achieved much success. She is a national Canadian track and field gold medalist (2022), in addition to having held provincial titles in the 100m, 200m, and 60m events for the Province of Quebec. Upon graduation, Emma plans to further her education and is hopeful to be accepted into the uOttawa Clinical Psychology Program with the ultimate goal of graduating with her Doctorate in Psychology.

Adam Levesque is a fourth-year student at the Telfer School of Management, in the Combined Business and Juris Doctor program. He is Vice-President of Francophone Communications at the Ottawa Centre for Legal Innovation. In addition, he is a portfolio manager in the Telfer Finance Association Investment Group and a Tech Fellow inthe University of Ottawa's Faculty of Law where he works with staff to promote innovation in the Faculty and foster a better student experience. In March, he attended the first mock oral argument held online.

Megan Chung Sion Kin

Megan Chung is a fourth year student in the Faculty of Arts' Communication Program (Communication, Organizations and Organizing Processes Profile). Since the beginning of her university studies, Megan has been working at the University of Ottawa under the Work-Study Program (WSP). The Work Study Program has enabled her to work close to her classes, allowing her to prioritize her studies. Among the various positions she has undertaken, Megan has had the opportunity to work in Francophone Affairs at the Faculty of Medicine, where she was able to promote the Francophonie, something she feels strongly about. In the fall of 2021, Megan will begin working in the public service within the Federal Government where she has been able to put into practice the theoretical knowledge she acquired during her university studies. She plans to pursue graduate studies in the fall of 2022 to further her knowledge in organizational communication. Afterwards, Megan hopes to pursue a career in human resources within the public service.

Pauline LANGE is a fourth-year student in the Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at the University of Ottawa. She was born and raised in Ottawa, where she played competitive soccer for twelve years. Pauline has received numerous accolades throughout high school and university, including the Anna Foley McMullen and Jeanne Lefebvre-HGH scholarships that she won earlier this year. She found her university experience to be enrichening as she honed her technical skills and developed an interest in mental health nursing. Pauline plans to pursue a Master’s degree later on in the domain of health. Thank you for establishing this bursary.

Sana Almansour is a Fourth-Year student with an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences – Technologies and Innovation in Health Care Option, and a minor in Business Management in French Immersion. Sana is a member of the University of Ottawa Student Union’s Executive Committee as the Equity Commissioner, where she advocates for anti-racism, women’s rights, LGTBQ2+ rights, and academic rights. As part of her mandate, she has fought alongside the Special Advisor for antiracism and Inclusive Excellence for increased inclusivity and reparations, helped launch the Period Project which provides free menstrual products on campus, and is on the committee for the re-launch of the wellness health clinic. Furthermore, as a student she has participated in research and received the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) scholarship in the areas of women’s health, abortion rights, and sexual and reproductive health indicators in refugee camps in Jordan. From Sana’s introduction to University of Ottawa through the Garderie Bernadette Child Care Centre, to her stellar academic portfolio as an undergraduate student, she prides herself on being an active member of the University of Ottawa Community. Sana speaks three languages; Arabic, English, and French and is an active member with the United Nations through its Associations in Canada and has created numerous programs to advocate for increased mental health throughout her high school career and in university and was part of the first UOGlobal cohort in the history of the program.
