The APRUO Newsletter
Our APRUO Newsletter now has a new name—NEXUS. The name reflects what our newsletter is meant to be: a place where ideas, experiences, and people come together. More than simply a source of information, Nexus helps connect our members, strengthens our sense of community, and keeps us engaged with one another, the University of Ottawa community, and others interested in APRUO.
Nexus is typically published four times per year, unless otherwise determined. A few months prior to the release of each edition, the Nexus Editors and the Communications Team circulate a Call for Contributions inviting members to share their stories, experiences, and reflections.
Who Can Contribute to Nexus?
To contribute to Nexus, you must be a paid member of APRUO. Information about membership and payment methods is outlined in our newsletter. You may also contact the APRUO Treasurer, at treapruo@uottawa.ca, who will be happy to guide you through the membership process.
What Kinds of Contributions Can You Submit?
We welcome submissions that reflect both personal and professional experiences. For example, you might wish to write about:
- A book or article you have written or reviewed
- Artwork you have created
- Poetry or music you have composed
- A workshop you facilitated
- Participation in a book club or choir
- Helping a student or colleague
- Travel experiences
- Festivals or cultural events you attended
- Volunteer work with charitable organizations
- Other experiences you would like to share with the APRUO community
Submissions should generally be between 250 and 800 words (we are flexible). Please submit your contribution in Word format (.docx) in English, French, or both languages.
Are There Examples of Contributions?
Yes. Recent issues of Nexus (formerly the APRUO Bulletin) are available for your perusal on our website: see below. Simply click on the issue date you wish to read.
